So I got arrested in Florence... not really but I AM apologizing because I'm never coming home!
This is where I’m supposed to be! I wish I could spend a
year in Florence! I feel like everything I’ve ever studied or wanted to study
is right here, in Florence! Three days will not be enough… I’m coming back here
for sure!
When we arrived in Florence, we dropped our bags and
freshened up in the hotel and then hit the streets! Map in hand (total tourist
move) we made our way to the Duomo! This was our first destination partly
because it’s everyone’s first stop, but also because Caroline’s parents were
there to meet us! We overlapped one day with their anniversary trip! Below are
some pictures that I took of the Duomo and the cathedral.
Since the Greehey’s have been here for a few days, we walked
around with them while they showed us a few little things. Obviously, Florence
is known for their leather so we stopped in a leather shop, where Mr. Greehey
had befriended the owner, and Caroline picked out a leather jacket (her big
present for the trip)! It was really fun to help her pick the right one and the
store provided us all with wine while we shopped!
After the leather shop, we went to dinner with Caroline’s
parents and had a great pasta dinner! We were all exhausted, so after dinner we
stopped for gelato and headed back to the hotel! These next few nights will be
nice in the hotel. We don’t have Internet, but it is air-conditioned and has
hot water! I absolutely can’t wait to explore Florence more! This is honestly a
dream come true! Ciao!
